19 Things to Try This Year

It's never too late to spice up your year. I've compiled a list of 19 things to do bellow. I hope you find one or two things to try!

1. Start a Bible Reading Plan:
It's never too late to try a new Bible reading plan. There are many 30 or 90 day plans to chose from, or you could try to read through the Bible in a year. No matter what your Bible study game plan is, daily Bible reading can make a big difference in your life.

2. Keep a Commonplace Book:
Thomas Jefferson had one of the most famous Commonplace Books. It's basically a journal or notebook, which you use to write down quotes, poems, and information. They might not seem as relevant now that we can google anything in a few seconds, but they're still pretty cool. Can you imagine what one would look like after a few years of writing in it?

3. Write Some Thank-You Letters:
Chances are, someone did something for you recently that was especially important to you. Pay it forward and send them a thank you letter.

4. Pi…

Seasons of Waiting

I would not describe myself as a patient person.
As a matter of fact, most of my life I’ve borderline hated waiting. When I was little I enjoyed waking up super early. I remember some mornings I laid in bed about three seconds before springing out of bed with the feeling that I was missing out on something going on outside my room.

They would tell me to go back to bed. I’d trod back to my room and wait until my family (and the sun) were up. The time I spent waiting seemed like the longest of my life; after all, there were cats to pet and projects to paint!
Waiting is hard but necessary. I really did need more sleep to grow. While it's easy to think that the waiting is futile, especially when we think we have better things to do, it serves an important purpose. You can learn so much from seasons that seem pointl…

Easy Tips to Share the Gospel

We are specifically told by Jesus to share the Good News. It’s so exciting to get to be a part of God's plan and a messenger of the gospel. However, actually talking to people may be a different matter. It's hard!

In the New Testament, there are several scriptures that talk about a “holy boldness” that God gives us in order to share the gospel with others. This boldness was necessary for the early church because the threat of persecution could have rendered them speechless. Instead, the world was changed. While we may not face the threat of death, we also need this boldness to effectively talk about Jesus.

When I went to Ireland I was so excited to do street evangelism, but when I actually went out on the streets, my knees almost gave out! I was so nervous and scared. Yet the Spirit was working. Our enthusiasm can only carry us so far; that's why we need the Holy Spirit to give us boldness and encouragement. People make up questions out of thin air, and there's no way t…
